Art.9 CHECKPOINTS AND DISQUALIFICATIONS

Visible checkpoints (with chip timing mats) and additional hidden checkpoints will be established along the course.

Any participant who deviates from the official course, uses mechanical assistance, or fails to display their race bib clearly will be disqualified. The CSI Race Officials Panel (GGG) will monitor the course and may disqualify athletes who fail to pass through the designated timing checkpoints.

Art.10 SPECIFIC RULES REGARDING DISQUALIFICATIONS AND APPEALS

Athletes are prohibited from being accompanied by non-participating runners on foot or by bicycle, under penalty of immediate disqualification; running alongside or with an animal on a leash is also prohibited, in accordance with the relevant FIDAL circular.

The presence of any animal alongside an athlete may constitute a violation of Rule 144.2 and be considered unauthorized assistance; furthermore, the presence of animals during a race may conflict with Rule 51 concerning athlete safety. Italian legislation regarding animal protection (Law 281/1991), animal mistreatment (Law 189/2004), and the penalties provided under Article 544 of the Italian Criminal Code shall also apply. Any protest must be submitted to the CSI Race Officials Panel (GGG) within 30 minutes of the announcement/posting of the result and accompanied by a €100.00 deposit, which will be refunded if the protest is upheld.

Art.12 PARTICIPATION SPECIFICATIONS

Each participant will be provided with a race bib incorporating a personal disposable timing chip used for intermediate timing points and official rankings. The race bib envelope will contain only information necessary for participation in the event (not advertising materials; therefore athletes are kindly requested to read all contents carefully) together with vouchers for collecting the race pack prizes, which must be collected before the start. The registered athlete is responsible for the ownership and safekeeping of the race bib and thereby acquires the right to benefit from all services described in these regulations and subsequently communicated by the Organization.

a) Anyone participating without proper registration and without a race bib, in addition to being held liable for any damage caused to persons or property, including themselves, shall be subject to sporting sanctions imposed by the competent federal bodies and may also incur criminal and administrative penalties where applicable.

b) Anyone participating without proper registration using a counterfeit race bib or a bib not assigned to them shall, in addition to the liabilities described above, incur sporting sanctions and may also be subject to criminal and administrative penalties where applicable.

In the cases referred to in points a) and b), participants may also be subject to penalties for the offense of “Failure to Comply with Orders Issued by Authorities” (Article 650 of the Italian Criminal Code).

The above-mentioned violations may be established exclusively through photographic and/or video evidence.

Art.13 ENTRY DEFERRAL – TRANSFER OF RACE BIB TO ANOTHER ATHLETE

Registration fees paid by athletes already registered for the Mezza Mugello Marathon who are unable to participate due to personal reasons are non-refundable and, unlike registrations for the Mugello Marathon, cannot be deferred to the following edition for any reason. In the event of a subsequent inability to participate, it will be possible, until September 19, to transfer the race bib to another athlete meeting the participation requirements. The request and all updated documentation must be sent directly to ENDU Evodata exclusively via email to:  mugellomarathon@evodata.it

Art.14 CANCELLATION OF THE EVENT

The Organization will evaluate the possibility of reimbursing only the registration fee (excluding any ancillary costs) or offering a free transfer of registration to the following year's event.

Art.15 PRIZES

On race day, the first five overall men and the first five overall women will be awarded on the official podium with a Cup and/or equivalent prizes; category winners will also be awarded (see 21K prize section). As this is a CSI-sanctioned race, no cash prizes (or equivalent benefits such as vouchers, bonuses, appearance fees, or expense reimbursements of any kind) will be awarded.

The Organizing Committee will provide an adequate medical assistance service along the course and in the start/finish areas.

Athletes who become injured or decide to withdraw from the event may board a vehicle following the race, which will transport them to the finish area. A medical ambulance service following the race is also provided. The Organizing Committee will implement an appropriate medical and safety plan in compliance with current regulations and in cooperation with Local Authorities, Law Enforcement Agencies, Civil Protection, CRS Centro Radio Soccorso and Misericordie organizations. All procedures concerning athlete reception, race bib collection, start procedures and finish procedures will be adapted to any conditions resulting from the general public health situation.
